Kosovo Albanian Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has dismissed Kosovo police (KPS) General Director Behar Selimi for making political statements. The official statement points out that the PM has decided to relieve Selimi of duty based on his constitutional authorities and Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi’s suggestion. Kosovo police director relieved of duty Reasons for Selimi’s dismissal have not been stated in the announcement, but Thaci says that he was sacked for making political statements which is contrary to the position of the KPS general director. Selimi was appointed KPS general director in April 2010 after Sheremet Ahmeti had been dismissed.
