Serbia's intelligence agency BIA on Friday marked the anniversary of its foundation. BIA Director Sasa Vukadinovic said at the ceremony in Belgrade that the security situation in Serbia is stable and that the agency, in cooperation with other state bodies, will successfully complete the cooperation with the Hague Tribunal in the nearest future, by arresting the two remaining Hague fugitives, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic. Vukadinovic addressed them by noting that it was "the 110th anniversary of the security service in Serbia". He said that BIA, in cooperation with other state bodies, is working round the clock in order to locate and arrest Mladic and Hadzic. "I am certain that we will solve this problem as soon as possible and thus remove the biggest obstacle on Serbia's EU pathway," said he. Vukadinovic also stated that in the past year BIA "maintained close international cooperation, with the aim to actively contribute to improving Serbia's image in the world, and within the global security system, to get prepared to adequately respond to international risks - terrorism and organized crime".
