U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission in the American embassy in Belgrade, Jennifer Brush, said that America’s goal is to help get Serbia into the European Union. She said that the main goal of U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration is for a successful Serbia and successful region to become a part of a successful Europe. "U.S. goal, Serbia in EU" Brush said that the U.S. is working “with all of its influence, energy and capacities” to make sure that Serbia enters into the European Union and Euro-Atlantic relations as soon as possible. Asked how important the Balkans are to the new American administration, Brush said that the main foreign policy priorities are Iraq and Afghanistan, but that this does not mean that Serbia is unimportant.
