Residents of Strpce and 16 other villages still have their electricity cut off, said reports from the municipality this morning. This comes despite the fact that the Kosovo electricity company KEK yesterday started collecting lump sums of EUR 26 per household. Still no electricity in Strpce The company said on Thursday that once 70 percent of households have paid electricity would be reconnected. But KEK director in Urosevac Izet Rusiti said that although in some villages this was the case, they are still left in the dark "for technical reasons". He also said that in Strpce and 12 other villages the 70 percent figure was not reached and they has not been reconnected. Strpce Municipal chief who works within Kosovo's institutions, Stanko Jakovljevic, yesterday signed a collective agreement with KEK which was one of the conditions set before a population of over 10,000 Serbs left without electricity for over a month.
