Tadić appoints new army chief

President Boris Tadić has appointed Lt. Gen. Miloje Miletić to the post of the Serbian Army (VS) chief-of-the-general-staff.

President Boris Tadic has appointed Lt. Gen. Miloje Miletic to the post of the Serbian Army (VS) chief-of-the-general-staff. His deputy will be Lt. Gen. Mladen Cirkovic, who previously commanded the Ground Army. His place will be taken by Maj. Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic, until now holding the post of the Training Command chief. Tadic appoints new army chief Dikovic received his new rank in a promotion, while Tadic also promoted Air Force commander Dragan Katanic to the rank of major-general. Lt. Gen. Miletic was born in 1953 in Blace, southern Serbia. He graduated from Belgrade's Military Academy as an artillery officer. Miletic was appointed acting chief-of-the-general-staff on Dec. 30 when Tadic dismissed Lt. Gen. Zdravko Ponos from that position.

Tadić appoints new army chief

Diković received his new rank in a promotion, while Tadić also promoted Air Force commander Dragan Katanić to the rank of major-general.
