The Socialist Party (SPS) presidency that met today has green lighted the formation of a Belgrade coalition with the DSS-NS and the Radicals (SRS). This was confirmed by the party's leader Ivica Dacic in Belgrade this evening. But the final say on the deal, that would produce the capital's new ruling coalition on the local level, will have to be approved by the SPS Belgrade board. SPS close to Belgrade deal, more govt. talks Last week, the Belgrade board executive committee approved the principles of this coalition, and sent their decision presidency for approval. Meanwhile, the Socialist-led coalition, that includes the Associated Pensioners Party (PUPS) and United Serbia (JS), has also met today, agreeing to ask the Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia (DSS-NS) for "additional explanations" regarding their position on the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), and "additional guarantees" that the future government will secure funds to implement a social justice program. JS leader Dragan Markovic, a.k.a. Palma, confirmed this for B92 tonight. He added that the DSS-NS answer will be awaited first, before the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition decides to start negotiating with the Democrat (DS)-led bloc. Markovic said the coalition remained united on all issues, including the support for the SAA, and repeated that the three MPs his party is entitled to in the next parliament would vote in favor of ratifying the deal with the EU.
