The Defense Ministry strongly backs the president and prime minister, in their Kosovo policy, Dragan Sutanovac (DS) says. The defense minister spoke in support of the state policy on the future status of the province Saturday, saying Belgrade's efforts were aimed at finding a peaceful solution. MoD backs state policy on Kosovo Sutanovac was attending a ceremony organized in Pancevo on the occasion of the first anniversary since the establishment of the Serbian Army (VS) Special Brigade. The Serbian Kosovo solution is the interest of all citizens and the region as a whole, he told the gathering. "Any other solution would not lead to peace and stability, but would get us back to the past," Sutanovac said. He also praised NATO military standards, deeming them “world’s best," adding that his job was to ensure the Army was equipped according to the same standards. “It is not up to me to decide whether or not Serbia should join NATO. But it has been decided that the Alliance’s standards will apply when it comes to the VS,” stressed Sutanovac.
