Diaspora Minister Milica Cubrilo begins an extended visit to Croatia today. The goal of her visit is to get better acquainted with the living circumstances of the Serb community in Croatia. Diaspora minister in Croatia for cooperation talks Cubrilo said that she had already discussed various issues with Serb community leaders in Croatia, officials of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Croatian government officials. She said that there was a desire to establish cooperation between the two countries and, in this context, to hold discussions between Culture, Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ministers. “Of course, the idea is to establish cooperation and partnerships. With the participation of the Serbian community we are working on re-establishing the Serbian identity and improving the community’s economic standing,” Cubrilo said. She said that she had spoken with Croatian officials about the representation of Serbian culture in Croatia and the problems of returning Serb refugees. Cubrilo will visit Vukovar today, where she will hold a meeting with leaders of the Serbian community there.
