Bulgaria wary of Kosovo upsetting regional stability

Dimitar Tzanchev also said that until Martti Ahtisaari submitted the status proposal to the UN Security Council “the process was open,” Focus news agency reported from the briefing.

Tzanchev was reported as “explicitly” stating that Bulgaria rejected all steps regarding Kosovo’s status that may lead to instability in the region, listing them as “ethnic separation, dividing the region, Kosovo becoming part of another country’s territory, disrespecting country borders with the neighboring countries.”

According to Tzanchev, Bulgaria is looking forward to a legitimate decision on Kosovo’s status, based on a UN Security Council resolution.
