Two bidders compete for BIP

Two companies have so far submitted offers, including Pivovarna Laško from Slovenia and a consortium of legal entities consisting of Sweden’s United Nordic Beverages and Lithuania-based Alita, the government reported on its web site.

The Privatization Agency said that both bidders met qualification conditions.

Pivovarna Lasko offered EUR 2.5 per share, or a total of EUR 11.8 bn for 51.9 percent of BIP's capital. It also proposed EUR 9mn worth investment program.

The Nordic Beverages – Alita consortium the purchase bid EUR 4.52 per share, or a total of EUR 21.4mn for 51.9 percent of the capital, along with the investment program valued at EUR 5.1mn.

The official results of the tender will be held after the second session of the tender commission due to be held after the evaluation and ranking of submitted bids.
