Defense: Prosecutor failed to prove guilt of Ivanovic
Vlajic said that that the proceedings against Ivanovic had been underway for two years and he believed that the prosecutor had failed to prove the claims he had build the case on since the beginning of the trial."What we saw was building castles in the air, but without a foundation on the ground. You cannot condemn someone because you believe that they had command responsibility. We are entitled to be biased, but the court is not," Vlajic told the EULEX trial chamber.
Ivanovic, a Serb politician from northern Kosovo and former Serbian government official, has been charged with war crimes committed against Albanian civilians in Kosovo in 1999 and 2000.
Ivanovic was kept in prisoned for 20 months before he was placed under house arrest in September.
