BELGRADE A trial of former Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Oliver Dulic and his associates for corruption should be scheduled soon. The Organized Crime Prosecution has decided to have a summary proceedings so the trial should begin very soon unless the indictment is expanded. Corruption trial of ex-minister to begin soon The prosecution and police are still investigating the case. The Organized Crime Prosecution filed a draft indictment against the former minister, former Environment and Spatial Planning Assistant Minister Nebojsa Janjic and Roads of Serbia public company Director Zoran Drobnjak for abuse of office on Friday. According to the law, the suspects cannot file an appeal to the draft indictment and a competent judge will decide whether the draft indictment is valid and then schedule a main hearing, i.e. trial. The prosecution requests that the suspects be sentenced to jail without parole. Dulic, Janjic and Drobnjak are suspected of abuse of office during issuing of permits for mounting of optical cables along roads across Serbia to Nuba Invest company. The Serbian parliament revoked Dulic’s immunity on October 8. He pleaded immunity, that he had as a Democratic Party (DS) MP, when the police first tried to arrest him on October 6. The former minister claims he is innocent and that he is a subject of political prosecution. Slovenian Nuba Invest company has also denied all the allegations. Oliver Dulic Tanjug
