Vojislav Seselj has entered a not guilty plea on Wednesday on contempt of court charges brought against him by the Hague Tribunal. The court charged Seselj with contempt for refusing to comply with a court order and remove documents that revealed the names of protected witnesses from his website in late May. The Hague Tribunal has charged Seselj with contempt three times thus far for his refusal to comply with a court order and remove the documents. After entering his plea on Wednesday, Seselj asked the court to grant him temporary release, noting that it was "high time to have a vacation after spending 9 years in detention". He also complained about the tribunal's decision to remove Ratko Mladic from his floor at the detention unit, a move which came "because of Seselj's bad influence". The leader of the opposition SRS Party was previously sentenced to 15 months in prison for revealing the names of the witnesses from the main proceeding. The second trial for contempt of court ended in the beginning of June and the court is expected to deliver a verdict. Seselj, who surrendered to the court in early 2003, has become the only Hague Tribunal indictee against whom four indictments were raised – one for war crimes, and three for contempt of court.
