Graffiti “This is Raska” and crosses with four S’s have appeared on newly opened soup kitchen in Prijepolje, Islamic Community in Serbia announced. Waqf (Islamic endowment) soup kitchen was opened by Chief Mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia Muamer Zukorlic on Friday. Waqf soup kitchen vandalized This is fourth such kitchen in Sandzak and meals are prepared for poor residents of Prijepolje and another three municipalities. Islamic Community in Serbia Spokesman Samir Tandir said that the graffiti were a barbaric attack on good human and multiethnic relations which traditionally existed in Prijepolje and Sandzak. “Purpose of waqf kitchens is to help all people regardless of religion, ethnicity and color of the skin. Our permanent determination to help people regardless of their ancestry is now even stronger,” he explained. The incident was reported to Prijepolje police who started an investigation. “We expect an efficient action from police to discover perpetrators of this heinous act so it would be determined whether this was an individual act or an act of an organized group which is bothered by such form of our humanitarian work,” the Islamic Community in Serbia spokesman pointed out. Hajrat Humanitarian Work Center has announced that it will inform highest officials of the Islamic community, Serbian top state officials and representatives of the international community about the incident.
