Two journalists attacked in Kosovo

Journalist Valentina Ahmeti and cameraman Arben Restelika were attacked in Uroševac on Thursday while reporting a story at a local school.

Journalist Valentina Ahmeti and cameraman Arben Restelika were attacked in Urosevac on Thursday while reporting a story at a local school. The school principal attacked the two journalists and locked them in a classroom, where they stayed fro 40 minutes, until the police arrived. Two journalists attacked in Kosovo According to reports, Restelika was able to call the police which took the principal into custody. SEEMO (Southeast Europe Media Organization) Secretary General Oliver Vujovic said that “SEEMO strongly condemns the attack on these journalists and demands an immediate and detailed investigation of the incident,” calling on the local government to protect the freedom of speech and the media in the region.

According to reports, Restelika was able to call the police which took the principal into custody.
