Bosnian Presidency member Haris Silajdzic has vehemently condemned “continued breaching” of the international Rome Accords by the Serbian authorities. “The latest moves by the Republic of Serbia judicial authorities with regards to case known as ‘Dobrovoljacka Street’ is a clear case of a breach not only of the Rome agreement and the European Convention on Transfer of Proceedings in Criminal Matters, but the Interpol Statute too,” said Silajdzic. According to the Presidency member, “pursuant to the authorization of the International Criminal Court for the Former Yugoslavia, and in line with the Rome Accords, only the Bosnian judicial authorities have jurisdiction in the 'Dobrovoljacka Street’ case.” Silajdzic said that the Serbian powers-that-be had rejected all attempts thus far to settle the case on the basis of internal law and obligations. “This is an attempt to undermine the integrity of the Bosnian institutions and destabilize the political situation within Bosnia-Herzegovina, all with the goal of creating the concept of equal guilt and responsibility for crimes in the wars in the former Yugoslavia,” he said.
