The District Public Prosecutor is set to open investigations against a person suspected of starting the U.S. embassy fire. According to a statement, there are initial suspicions that one person in a group of several unidentified individuals was responsible for starting the fire at the U.S. embassy in Belgrade which claimed the life of Zoran Vujovic. Inquiry into U.S. embassy fire begins “This person is suspected of committing a serious breach of public security, as he brought a great many people’s lives and property into danger,” said public prosecution spokesman Tomo Zoric. The suspect is also under suspicion of stealing embassy property. The district public prosecutor’s application to conduct an investigation recommends that the suspect be remanded in custody. If found guilty of the aforementioned crimes, the suspect could face a prison term of between two and 12 years. (FoNet)
