An emergency medical team was assaulted last night in Belgrade, officials have confirmed. The premises that the ambulance crew uses in the Belgrade municipality of Zemun were also vandalized, Nada Macura, of the City Emergency Medical Aid Institute told B92. Ambulance crew comes under attack "A medical team has been physically assaulted in Zemun. Three police patrols arrived at the scene immediately and their intervention prevented more grievous consequences," she said. The doctors were released from the emergency center in Belgrade after their injuries were treated, Macura explained, and added that the "increasing attacks on medical crews" demanded that their members be given "official persons status." Serbian police (MUP) are conducting an investigation into the incident. No information was available this morning as to the possible motives for the attack, or the identity of the perpetrators.
