Fiat investments in Serbia “according to plan”
Serbian President Boris Tadić has met in Turin with Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed that Fiat's investments in Serbia are developing as planned.

Serbian President Boris Tadic has met in Turin with Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed that Fiat's investments in Serbia are developing as planned. “Fiat will begin making a new car model in Serbia by the end of the year, which should provide work for 2,500 people,” Marchionne told the Serbian president. All the technical issues regarding Fiat's project in Serbia have been resolved, the president's press service stated. Fiat Automobili Srbija is preparing to start production of the new models. The factory should be ready by winter. Tadic was in Turin December 20, 2009 as well, before Fiat signed the contract on investing into Zastava, a Serbian car maker from Kragujevac. He also met with Marchionne then, who promised to sign the contract by the end of 2009 and invest EUR 100mn in Zastava and a new production line.
