Serbian firms to take part in privatization of Port of Bar

Montenegrin Transport Minister Andrija Lompar has called on Serbian companies to take part in the forthcoming privatization of the Port of Bar. Lompar had a meeting with Serbian Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic in Kotor. Serbian firms to take part in privatization of Port of Bar The two ministers discussed the construction of Corridor 11, reconstruction of the Bar-Belgrade railway line and improvements in transport lines connecting the two countries, . the Serbian Infrastructure Ministry stated on Friday. Lompar and Mrkonjic agreed that the two countries should set up a high-profile joint commission, as proposed by prime ministers of Serbia and Montenegro, which would help ensure good coordination in the highly important project of Corridor 11 construction. The Montenegrin minister informed his Serbian counterpart that Chinese companies had expressed interest in construction the Montenegrin section of Corridor 11. Mrkonjic said that construction works on Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 in Serbia were going according to the plans and that the Ub-Lajkovac line, in central Serbia, which constituted the first part of the country's Corridor 11 section, should be completed by the end of the year, as envisaged in the contract. The two ministers also discussed improvement of air traffic conditions, with a reference to the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency, the release states.
