The Serbian government decided on Thursday to set the minimum starting price for the sale of its 51 percent stake in Telekom Srbia at EUR 1.4bn.

The Serbian government decided on Thursday to set the minimum starting price for the sale of its 51 percent stake in Telekom Srbia at EUR 1.4bn. The government tasked the Finance Ministry and the working group for conducting the tender for the sale of state-owned telecommunications company shares with informing all participants in the tender for the privatization of the Serbian company about the initial price. Telekom starting price set at EUR 1.4bn The tender documents have so far been purchased by Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, Telekom Austria, Amerika Movil, Weather Investments, Turkcell and VimpelCom. The tender for the sale of Telekom Srbija tender was announced on February 20 this year, and the deadline for submitting binding bids is February 21, 2011. Meanwhile, Greek OTE, which now holds a 20 percent stake in Telekom, said it would sell its shares "if they have a good price". The government meets in Belgrade (Beta)
