Telekom starting price set at EUR 1.4bn

The Serbian government decided on Thursday to set the minimum starting price for the sale of its 51 percent stake in Telekom Srbia at EUR 1.4bn.

"Unbelievable, this crooked government doesn't even try to hide their criminal intentions anymore. First, Telekom is worth atleast $4bn as it was published in a Politika article not long ago, which the government quickly hushed up."

If it's true that 100% of Serbia Telekom is worth 4bn, then 1.4 billion for 51% as a STARTING price is not that bad. Remember, it will be an auction, with several bidders, and the price will raise if other companies think it's worth.

It won't be a direct sale much below value without competition, like it has been with the sale of NIS to the Russians. The latter has been a political manoeuvre, obviously.
