Domestic currency again loses ground

The Serbian dinar (RSD) lost in value against the euro for the second time in as many days, with the exchange rate now at RSD 102.8127.

The Serbian dinar (RSD) lost in value against the euro for the second time in as many days, with the exchange rate now at RSD 102.8127. The latest slide amounted to 0.23 percent. Domestic currency again loses ground The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) on Thursday failed to intervene in the inter-bank hard currency market. The central bank's last intervention was on June 1, while it sold just over EUR 1bn in that market since the beginning of the year in bids to prevent a volatile exchange rate of the domestic currency. The NBS hard currency reserves currently stand at some EUR 10.7bn. The dinar was the strongest this year on January 4, when the official mean exchange rate stood at RSD 95,9676 for one euro.

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) on Thursday failed to intervene in the inter-bank hard currency market.

The central bank's last intervention was on June 1, while it sold just over EUR 1bn in that market since the beginning of the year in bids to prevent a volatile exchange rate of the domestic currency.

The NBS hard currency reserves currently stand at some EUR 10.7bn.

The dinar was the strongest this year on January 4, when the official mean exchange rate stood at RSD 95,9676 for one euro.
