Jelašić: Strengthening of dinar not likely

National Bank of Serbia Governor Radovan Jelasic told B92 that the domestic currency was not likely to return to the exchange rate of RSD 76 or 77 for one euro. He added that the central bank had issued the draft of its new decision on a reduction of business banks’ obligatory reserves. Jelasic: Strengthening of dinar not likely “That will not mean that the NBS will be returning money to banks, but that they will be able, during this entire year, to reduce the level of their obligatory reserves at the central bank, by a level of loan and savings increase,” the governor explained. He said that the reduction of obligatory reserves was agreed on with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Jelasic specified that the reduction of reserves would go gradually, until the end of the year.
