Serbia takes out USD 200mn loan

Finance Minister Diana Dragutinovic says the government had signed an agreement with the IBRD on a USD 200mn loan for budget support. The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) is part of the World Bank. Serbia takes out USD 200mn loan At a news conference in Belgrade on Friday, Dragutinovic said that the World Bank had approved a USD 500mn loan on November 17, out of which USD 200mn for 2009, and expressed her belied that the Serbian parliament would ratify the law on this loan by the end of the year. In the presence of Head of the World Bank Office in Belgrade Simon Gray, Dargutinovic underscored that there were two agreements on the loan: one referring to the support to the development of the private and financial sector, and the other being a loan for the development of public finances. The loan was approved with a 20-year maturity, a grace period of 8 years and an annual interest rate of one percent.
