Sergei Shoigu says Moscow would like Serbian companies to take part in construction works on the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics facilities. The Russian emergency situations minister was meeting in Belgrade with Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric and Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic. Serbian companies to build in Sochi? Shoigu, who arrived in Serbia a day before Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's official visit, said that great progress has been made in the realization of the gas-oil arrangement between Serbia and Russia in the past six months. The Russian minister is head of the Russian part of the Serbian-Russian Intergovernmental Committee on Trade, Economic and Scientific Cooperation. Dacic reportedly proposed that all questions and problems related to the implementation of the Russian-Serbian committee's project should be addressed by expert groups during the committee's session. Mrkonjic pointed out the importance of the project for the Serbian Ministry of Infrastructure and underscored the significance of the construction of Cargo Center near Nikola Tesla Airport, finding a strategic partner for Jat Airways, a loan for the Serbian Railways, infrastructure projects and subway construction.
