In the first half of 2009, Serbia has achieved a positive balance of USD 649mn in trade with countries belonging to the CEFTA agreement. According to the Statistics Bureau, this successful trading is mostly the result of the export of agricultural products, especially wheat products and various beverages. Serbia sees positive balance in CEFTA trade Serbia imported iron and steel, electrical energy and products of non-metallic minerals most from countries of the CEFTA agreement. Serbia’s exports in the first half of 2009 totaled USD 1.16bn—exports were worth USD 517.4mn, with imports covered by exports at 225.4 percent. Last year, Serbia had a positive balance of USD 1.8bn with CEFTA countries, which was also largely due to the export of agricultural products.
