Serbia’s total foreign currency reserves have reached EUR 10.73bn, says the National Bank (NBS). The National Banks’s reserves rose by EUR 138.3mn in January and reached EUR 9.78mn, says the NBS in a statement, adding that this equaled USD 14.56bn, meaning 3.43 times higher than monetary aggregate (M1). The biggest impact on the rise in the National Bank’s foreign reserves is an inflow on the basis of a net purchase of foreign money totaling EUR 63.3mn, EUR 64.6mn down on the previous month. At the same time, EUR 2.6mn was paid out in January to foreign creditors, while a further EUR 2.2mn was spent paying off old foreign currency savings and economic recovery loans. Last month, the dinar’s purchasing power compared to the euro fell by 4.3 percent, while the exchange rate hovered between 79.76 and 82.99 dinars to the euro.

At the same time, EUR 2.6mn was paid out in January to foreign creditors, while a further EUR 2.2mn was spent paying off old foreign currency savings and economic recovery loans.
Last month, the dinar’s purchasing power compared to the euro fell by 4.3 percent, while the exchange rate hovered between 79.76 and 82.99 dinars to the euro.
