Oleg Deripaska's SMR has sent all the missing paperwork in its bid to take part in the RTB Bor sale. The Privatization Agency said Wednesday that the eastern Serbia-based copper mining and smelting complex tender commission will convene tomorrow to determine whether SMR has qualified for the race to acquire the company. Russians submit complete RTB documentation The commission last week ordered the Russians to supplement the documents they submitted with their tender offer, or risk being disqualified from the process. The participation of Austrian consortium A-TEC, the second participant in the sale, has previously been approved. Five companies bought tender documents necessary to take part in the second tender, but only two placed offers. The minimum price the state set for RTB Bor was USD 340mn and another USD 180mn in investments. The first tender fell through in April when the winner, Romanian Cuprom, failed to provide financial guarantees for its USD 400mn offer.
