Investment Plan deemed careless
He used the city of Niš as an example, a city that “grew” on four industries, of which only one, the tobacco industry, has survived.“There is nothing to substitute it with. And now you are going to throw a half a billion on Belgrade? I responsibly claim: money is being thrown around in Belgrade!” Stamenković said.
He said that the state is a bad “allocator” of funds, because of its wide array investments, such as investing into schools, monasteries and infrastructures, stating that this could be very dangerous.
“It is not true that, because these are investments, there will be no inflation effects. Of the billion euros that will be invested, only directly imported equipment or some other materials for these investments will not be used. Everything else will. All of this will be dinars that will make their way to the market.” Stamenković said.
He said that Mobi 63 was sold at an incredibly good price and that a portion of this money could be invested into basic infrastructures such as Corridor 10, the railway infrastructure and “nothing more that that.”
Stamenković said that he does not understand why the state is giving concessions for the road from Belgrade to Požega, when Montenegro has separated and the Bar port is no longer being used.
“Why do we have to use Bar and make a highway if we already have finished communication, because of brotherly feelings? Why should I build them a road, let them do it by themselves.” Stamenković said.
