Serbs and Greeks arrested for smuggling migrants

The Hungarian police have arrested two Serbian and two Greek citizens in two separate incidents related to illegal border crossings of a total of 28 migrants.

Serbs and Greeks arrested for smuggling migrants

The Greeks were detained the same morning near the settlement of Reska near the border with Serbia while transporting nine Syrians in two vehicles. The Syrians "could not prove they were in Hungary legally," a statement said.

The four suspects have been charged with illegal human trafficking, while all the migrants discovered during the police searches have submitted asylum requests and have been turned over to the immigration service, the police said.
