The crisis shakes the Pentagon: the spokesman resigned; Counselors on "unpaid leave of absence"
One of the Pentagon's spokespersons, John Ullyot, has resigned from his position, continuing the crisis within the US Department of Defense. He explained his decision in a statement to Politico.

"I made it clear to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth before the inauguration that I was not interested in being subordinate to anyone in the field of public communications," Ullyot said.
He added that they had an agreement that two months would be a kind of notice period.
"Last month, as that deadline approached, Hegseth and I were talking and we couldn't agree on another suitable role for me in the Ministry of Defence. So, I informed him that I was leaving at the end of this week," he explained.
Ullyot's resignation comes at a critical time for the US defense secretary. Hegseth launched an investigation into the "leaking" of secret and classified information, and three people inside the Pentagon have already been placed on "unpaid leave" because of the investigation.
Among them are two of his advisers, as well as Deputy Defense Secretary Steven Feinberg's chief of staff.
It all started with a scandal involving messages on the Signal app, where Hegseth and other US officials shared classified information about the US military's attack on Yemen, specifically the Houthi group.
In addition, Ullyot was at the center of a scandal involving the deletion of certain individuals from the Ministry of Defense website. He defended the decision to remove numerous African-American generals, as well as other important figures in American history who belong to this race, from the websites of government institutions.
By the way, he was part of the first administration of US President Donald Trump, and before his job at the Ministry of Defense, he worked in the White House, also as a spokesman.
