Zagreb Philharmonic to perform in Belgrade

In a concert titled Souvenir Latinoamericano, which will take place at the Kolarac Foundation on Friday, the guests of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will attempt to convey the atmosphere of a Latin American carnival under the baton of Alan Bjelinski.

The Zagreb Philharmonic will feature performances by professional Latino musicians and vocal soloists Olvido Ruiz Castellanos and Ricardo Luque.

The project is one-of-a-kind cultural project launched in 2011 by the Philharmonic Orchestras of Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade, who agreed to stage identical concerts featuring the same conductors and soloists in all the three cities as part of their regular concert seasons.

The project was initiated by the directors of the three national orchestras, and was officially endorsed by the presidents, prime ministers, ministers of culture, the mayors of the three capital cities and the U.S. embassies in all the three countries.

The Zagreb Philharmonic performed in Belgrade in May 2012 for the first time after 25 years.
