    Lots of countries in the east remember Russian liberation. It lasted five decades and put them behind an iron curtain of communism. As soon as the curtain fell they were quick to switch sides. Last I discovered that an Uncle Tom is at least an American or African-American slang term for a black person particularly a black male who is said to do anything to have a good standing with white people even if it means that he betrays other black people.
