Mijailović: "I'm not guilty, the results are the problem"; Paspalj on Ocokoljić

At the annual press conference, Mijailović and Paspalj spoke about the current season, sporting results, the status of the coaching staff, and plans for the future.

Mijailović emphasized that he does not accept personal responsibility for the team’s poorer results, stressing that his role is primarily organizational and financial, while the sporting sector is responsible for on-court results.

He paid particular attention to the departure of Željko Obradović, saying that the experienced coach made the decision to step down on his own and that the club did not exert any pressure on him.

Speaking about the coaching situation, the Partizan president said there would be no hasty moves at this time and that the public would be informed in due course of all decisions, adding that the team will continue to be led by Mirko Ocokoljić.

He declined to confirm or deny speculation about potential coaching candidates, stating that the club is considering all options.

Žarko Paspalj, in his address, spoke about the team roster and player lineup, highlighting that some foreign players represent a significant financial burden for the club, while also emphasizing that a greater contribution from them is expected on the court.

He also touched on injury issues, noting that they have largely affected the team’s continuity throughout the season.

Paspalj pointed out the need for a clearer strategy for developing domestic players and increasing their participation in the team, as well as the broader context of Serbian basketball in the EuroLeague.

It was concluded that the club will conduct a detailed review at the end of the season, after which decisions will be made aimed at ensuring Partizan’s stability and competitiveness in the future.
