Some candidates for mayor of Belgrade known

The Serb Progressive Party (SNS) on Thursday submitted its election list, headed by party vice-president and cabinet minister Zorana Mihajlović.

Another SNS vice-president, Nebojša Stefanović, said on the occasion that beside SNS members, the ticket includes the Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS), Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), New Serbia, and the Movement of Socialists officials, and two members of the Belgrade interim council - Siniša Mali and Goran Vesić.

But Stefanović did not specify who will be the party's candidate for mayor, underlining that the SNS and its partners "act as a team."

United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Marković Palma at the same time announced that the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition candidate will be former Belgrade Assembly president, now cabinet minister Aleksandar Antić.

The Democrats (DS) will hope that their leader Dragan Đilas can once again assume the office of mayor, and plan to go to elections along with New Party ("Nova Stranka") led by Zoran Živković. According to reports, they are also negotiating with a number of well-known figures from the ranks of the so-called civil Serbia.

The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will nominate party vice-president Aleksandar Popović, and United Regions of Serbia (URS) "most likely Suzana Grubješić," the newspaper writes.

According to this, Željko Ožegović of the Liberal-Democrats (LDP) will be another candidate for mayor.
