Tadić told the newspaper that there is "discussion, but also agreement among the ruling coalition partners", on the way in which the 2009 state budget should be formed.
According to the president, a maximum of sustainable jobs must be provided along with economic development, via budget projection and assistance to the economy, in order to prevent recession, "which would be the most dangerous consequence of the world financial crisis for Serbia".
Temporary financing, Tadić said, is not a political solution, and a country that is on a system of temporary financing does not send out a good message to its potential investors.
Tadić marked the coming years as "especially important for Serbia", and explained that answers for the global economic crisis must be found, along with decreasing the amount of money spent by the state, improving work of parliament and ing new laws in line with the strategy for joining the EU.
