Two Serbian citizens suspected of terrorism by Montenegro have been arrested on a Montenegrin warrant, the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) said on Friday.

Serbian citizens arrested on Montenegro's terrorism warrant

They are suspected of organizing a criminal group that planned to storm the Montenegrin Assembly on election day, and arrest and liquidate then PM Milo Djukanovic.

It was reported later in the day that Bogicevic is held in extradition detention, while Ristic was released but prohibited from leaving Belgrade.

Montenegro has launched legal proceedings against a total of 18 Serbian and two Russian citizens, most of whom are jailed in Podgorica.

Once Serbia receives the necessary documentation, in line with the bilateral agreement on extradition that it has with Montenegro, the proceedings based on that country's request for extradition of the two Serbian citizens will resume, Serbian Justice Minister Nela Kuburovic has said.
