The international military troops in Kosovo will cede control over the Albanian border to the Kosovo police, KPS. This continues tthe process of transfer of jurisdiction to the Kosovo Albanian institutions in Pristina, said reports. KPS takes over border with Albania The transfer of responsibilities will be realized as part of the withdrawal of KFOR troops from the border area. Announcing the transfer of jurisdiction, KFOR Commander Markus Bentler stated that the Kosovo police are increasingly prepared, professional and efficient. NATO stated that the transfer of authority to the local institutions is an indication of progress in Kosovo. Transfer of jurisdiction has already been carried out in the border zone toward Macedonia.
