Serbia's new military base, named Jug (South), will be officially opened on Monday, reports said. President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbia Army Lt. Gen. Miloje Miletic will attend the ceremony. Base South to officially open on Monday The base, also known after nearby Cepotina, is the largest of its kind in the region, and is located in Serbia's volatile southern area. The work conditions and accommodation for soldiers "are as good as those found in any contemporary army in the world" the defense ministry said. Beside the top state officials, the ceremony will also be attended members of the diplomatic and military-diplomatic missions in Serbia.

The base, also known after nearby Cepotina, is the largest of its kind in the region, and is located in Serbia's volatile southern area.
