The District Public Prosecution in Belgrade has charged Milan Zivanovic with setting fire to the U.S. embassy on February 21, 2008. Zivanovic, who was in a group of people who forcibly entered the embassy, has been charged with bringing people's lives into danger. Man charged with U.S. embassy fire Zoran Vujovic from Novi Sad died during the storming of the embassy. The prosecution has charged Zivanovic with public order offenses that carry a potential 12-year jali term. He is also accused of theft from the embassy on the same indictment.
