RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik says the entity will adopt its own census law in the event the analagous Bosnian law does not foresee a section on ethnicity. “If they don’t include it, we’ll adopt our own census law, regardless of whether they say it’s valid or not or whether or not it’s what the EU wants,“ Dodik told reporters in Trebinje. The Republic of Srpska (RS) leader accused his opponents in the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and the Party for Bosnia-Herzegovina of wanting to turn Bosnia-Herzegovina into a country of Bosnians.

He said that he was not a Bosnian Serb, “but a Serb, and that’s how I want it to be.“

The SDA and the Party for Bosnia-Herzegovina say they will not vote for the census law in the national parliament tomorrow because of the section referring to ethnicity.
