Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic on Monday announced his upcoming visit to Germany. Djelic stated that he would inform his German interlocutors that Serbia's ambition was to become worthy member of the European Union family and to be seen in Germany as a central country of the Western Balkans. Deputy PM readies for trip to Germany In his statement with Tanjug, Djelic said that his meetings with German ministers would focus on bilateral, economic and scientific relations between the two countries. He said that he would meet, among others, with German Minister of Economics and Technology Reiner Bruderle and Minister of Education and Research Annette Schavan, and will present to the German parliament Serbia's activities on its way to the European Union. He also said that he would request the German parliament's support for a speedy forwarding of Serbia's application to the European Commission. Djelic is set to meet with advisers to Chancellor Angela Merkel and on Thursday will address a meeting dubbed Europa Forum on Europe's future as the only representative of a non-EU country.
