Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic says that Serbia will insist on a unilateral independence annulment. He was speaking to reporters yesterday after the parliament in Belgrade adopted a government decision on annulment of the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence. Minister on Kosovo plan: Be patient Serbia will insist on this matter with the UN, but will also proceed to indirectly control those regions of the province populated by the Serbs, he explained. Samardzic also reiterated that Belgrade rejected the EU mission to Kosovo, and will instead insist that UNMIK remains there. He said the parliament's endorsement of the government decision now gave the state a green light to implement its the domestic and international policy over Kosovo. Serbia will continue with its diplomatic initiative, and start using those measures available from the Kosovo Action Plan, related to those countries that recognize Kosovo's unilateral independence. Serbia considers both the declaration by the authorities in Pristina and its recognition as illegal acts. Yesterday, the country's ambassadors from the United States, France and Turkey were recalled as part of the announced measures. Asked about the next moves, Samardzic said that they will be implemented individually toward each country that may decide to accept Kosovo Albanians' declaration, and that each of these measures will be "calculated". "Be patient and wait for it to happen," he advised. But Samardzic warned that these moves, about to be undertaken will "to a great degree have a negative impact on Serbia's European path". "If they intend to have normal relations with Serbia, then they cannot do what they are doing, breaking the law," the minister, from Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), said. Samardzic added that "both the EU and individual member states' moves over Kosovo" will from now on be considered.
