Radicals call for no-confidence vote

SRS caucus chief Tomislav Nikolić said at a press conference held in the Parliament building that Vojislav Koštunica and Boris Tadić wanted to rule Serbia with “lies and deceit.”

He stressed that Tolimir was arrested in New Belgrade and not in the Republic of Srpska, adding that the apartment where the former Bosnian Serb (VRS) general was hiding prior to the arrest had been under police surveillance for a month.

Nikolić alleged that the authorities waited for Chief Hague Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte to confirm her visit to Belgrade and then staged Tolimir’s arrest and extradition.

The Serbian Constitution stipulates that at least 60 lawmakers file a no-confidence motion in the Parliament. The Parliament then discusses the motion in the next session, at least five days after it has been submitted. The motion must garner support from no less than a half of the total number of lawmakers in order to take effect.
