Two million euros for Prokuplje

Prokuplje municipality expects to receive further 5,5 million euros from the National Investment Plan (NIP), in order to build a sanitary city dump, solving the problem of garbage disposal, currently the underdeveloped municipality’s number one communal problem.

The Prokuplje Building projects coordinator Goran Mrdaković says 170,455 euros will be spent on the finalization of reconstruction works for the Secondary school’s boarding facility.

USAID-funded works on the town’s pedestrian zone and the main street have also started. According to the schedule, all works will be completed by the end of this and the start of the next year.

Mrdaković also said the reconstructed green market was recently opened in Prokuplje. Total cost of the construction works stands at 10 million dinars, while the US government participated with 6,5 million through Mercy Corps.

Mercy Corps announced it would implement the US government grant worth 5,6 million dinars, building a youth center in Beli Kamen, a tourist location near Prokuplje.
