Following an in-debth analysis of regulations, the privatization bill provisions and available agreements, the Supervision Board ruled out an option of launching negotiations with the second-ranking bidder in the RTB tender. The Board recommended further restructuring of RTB Bor complex and called for a new tender.
The US$ 400mn worth purchase deal concluded between Romanian company Cuprom and the Serbian government on March 5, was officially terminated on April 25 since Cuprom failed to submit banking guarantees for within the proscribed deadline.
Cuprom previously won the tender for RTB Bor announced on September 1, 2006, outbidding the second-ranking East Point Company.
