NIS, majority owned by Gazprom, to invest "1bn over 3 years"

Kravchenko briefed Nikolic on NIS operations in 2016, stating that despite the low oil prices in the world market, the company reported "the same net profit as in 2015."

The Serbian president's press service said in a statement on Monday that NIS pays taxes regularly - something that Nikolic described as being "very important."

NIS is owned by Russia's energy giant Gazprom (56.15 percent), the Republic of Serbia (29.87 percent), and minority shareholders (13.98 percent).
