Russian President Dmitry Medvedev confirmed today that he will meet with U.S. President Barack Obama in London on April 1. As he met with U.S. analysts at the Kremlin, Medvedev said that they would discuss the issue of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the fight against terrorism and the global economic crisis. Medvedev: Signals from Washington "quite positive" He noted that relations between the two countries had “degraded considerably” over the last few years, but expressed expectations that they would improve with the new U.S. administration. “The signals we’re getting from the U.S. president are, it seems, quite positive,” he said. According to Medvedev, the possibility exists to turn over a new leaf in Russia-U.S. relations.
