A new jump in the number of newly infected - almost 9.000
24 people died.26.133 people were tested.
There are 87 patients on the respirator, while 2.229 were hospitalized.
In Serbia, COVID took 12.936 lives, and the mortality rate is 0.95.
An increasing number of doctors are infected, and patients are being redirected to other COVID hospitals, says the director of the University Clinical Center of Serbia, Milika Asanin.
According to him, all this threatens to jeopardize the process of work in health institutions. He told TV Pink that the big problem of the health system is that most of the capacity has been redirected to the COVID hospital in Batajnica, where 339 patients are currently being treated, 50 of whom are in intensive care.
According to Asanin, that is twice the number of hospitalized compared to September and October last year, but he emphasizes that the Infectious Diseases Clinic now records an enormous increase in examinations, 200 to 250 during the day.
However, Asanin points out that the number of hospital admissions is relatively small, considering large number of new patients.
